A lonely Valentines
As we all know, the infamous Valentines day is coming up. A day us single people all dread as the couples of the world parade their love and happiness onto social media for us singletons to see.
But Valentines may not be as bad as we all think when we are alone. I've spent many a Valentines praying that someone would whisk me away into the day, take me to Paris and spoil
me with macaroons and champagne, but unfortunately the best I ever received was a dominoes and a fluffy bear (not that i'm complaining), but this year is different. This year is a year to be alone and celebrate not being in love with someone else, but being in love with one's self.
Valentines is hard alone, and I admit, I pray within the week my prince comes and takes me out, but a girl must prepare with her favourite things in order to not feel alone and unloved, because everyone is loved. Everyone deserves to be happy on an occasion like this, and it's simple to achieve just by looking into what you love and what makes you happy.
For me, Valentines will be a day for me to attend my favourite gym class, a day for me to catch up with all the reading I've been putting off for the last 3 weeks, it's a day I will do my makeup so I feel fabulous when walking to Tesco to grab myself a bottle of prosecco, to enjoy later on that evening when I order my favourite take away, sit in front of the TV to watch Gossip Girl and kiss my kittens a goodnight to the outside world. Sad as that may seem to some individuals, it's a day that will brighten my spirits and give me the happiness I truly feel.
Treat yourself this Valentines. Be alone and love yourself.
